Students of the paralegal program will learn the knowledge and skills necessary to work as entry-level paralegals or legal or administrative assistants. Students will learn about the complex procedures and communication surrounding lawsuits, court cases and legal briefs in family law (child custody, bankruptcy, wills, divorce), torts (civil suits involving personal injury), and contract law (formal agreements between parties). Instruction is a combination of lecture, practical, hands-on assignments, and field trips. The program includes career development and a 150-hour on the job externship.
