On January 13 at 7PM at the Bowers Museum more than 300 guests are expected to attend the graduation ceremony to celebrate our 40 graduates who are receiving a certificate in either Business Office Administration, Medical Front Office with Billing and Coding, or Legal Administrative Assistant. Our graduates have been working hard these past 8 months and have accomplished something great.

State Assemblymember Jose Solorio will be the keynote speaker. Jose Solorio has been the representative for the North Orange County district in the California State Assembly since 2006. He focuses his efforts on education, public safety, job creation and improving our state’s water and transportation infrastructure.

Assemblymember Solorio is a great example of the American Dream. He grew up the son of migrant workers and as a teenage her would work along side his parents. He later earned his master’s degree in public policy from Havard. Now he works as an assembly member, making sure that many people are provided with the resources to succeed.

Join us to hear his story and words of advise for our Winter 2012 graduates. This is a proud moment for our graduates and a major step toward their brighter future.

Breaking News Alert
The New York Times
Friday, July 8, 2011 — 8:36 AM EDT
—–

U.S. Economy Added 18,000 Jobs in June; Unemployment Rate Rose to 9.2%

The United States economy added only 18,000 jobs in June, a blow to hopes for a resurgence in hiring, the Department of Labor said on Friday. The unemployment rate rose to 9.2 percent from 9.1 percent in May, the department said.

The increase in nonfarm payrolls came mostly from private companies, which added 57,000 jobs in June, from a revised gain of 73,000 in May, the monthly report said. In general, government agencies have been shedding jobs as they grapple with budget pressures.
Over all, the gain for May was revised downward to 25,000 from the initial report of 54,000.
The report showed the continuing challenges of adding jobs to the economy even at a rate that keeps pace with population growth, two years after the official end of the longest economic downturn since the Great Depression.

Students are clamoring for these “on the job training” opportunities that will not only prepare them for job placement but in many cases turn into jobs once they graduate.

For legal students there are a number of internships to choose from including esteemed Madison Harbor, ALC and the local Law Offices of Cha & Gonzalez.

Three of the medical internships have already been secured by CCC students including two internships as Biller/Coders at Apex Medical Management and a position as Front Office Surgical Scheduler at Tustin Surgical Center Medspa. We are also excited to offer our students internships at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital amongst other medical internships available.

Career College of California recently completed its move to downtown Santa Ana to provide members of the community with high-quality training and intensive placement assistance. The school plans to bring its own brand of vocational education emphasizing a personal touch with small class sizes and going the extra mile to help graduates begin new careers.

“CCC is a different kind of school,” said Anna Cervantes, a Santa Ana resident and recent graduate. “The classes are small and the staff treats you like family. I just got a great job with their help.”

The school is located in the Fiesta Marketplace on the second floor of the building at the corner of 4th and Bush streets, close to public transportation with ample free garage parking.

“Santa Ana is realizing its vision of revitalization and it is wonderful to have Career College of California be a part of that renewal.” said Michele Martinez, Santa Ana councilperson.

The school will support up to 200 students with training and placement assistance for entry level administrative careers in the allied health, legal and business fields.

“We focus a lot of energy on providing excellent training, but its easy to get discouraged in this job market, so we provide lots of placement assistance and focus on building our students’ confidence,” said school President Niko Everett.

“The staff at CCC really believed in me and helped me believe in myself. I wasn’t sure I could get a job in the medical field, but they helped me and now I have a job at UC Irvine Medical Center,” said recent graduate Ingrid Benavides.

CCC is excited to be joining the vibrant and thriving downtown community and looking forward to serving many Santa Ana residents over the coming years.

Career College of California is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) and certified by the U.S. Department of Education to provide grants and loans to qualified students.
